10 Ways To Look More Expensive

These 10 tips will help make you look more expensive.

These tips will give you ideas on how to refine your look, and elevate your style in a chic and feminine way.

Clean and tidy nails

Nail care is extremely important not only for hygiene reasons but to also improve the appearance of your hands and feet.

Cutting and/or filing your nails at a nice length and into a nice elegant shape – the squoval or round shape look very elegant. In addition,  tidying up your cuticles will make your nails look clean and tidy. If you want to you can them a polish with a clear or neutral coloured nail polish, or shellac.

Hair

Taking the time to shampoo and condition your hair regularly is another important thing to do for basic personal hygiene and the appearance of your hair.

Styling your hair regularly such as curling it, will make you look more put together. But don’t under estimate the power of a nice low bun with a silk scrunchie. Ensure your hair is always looking clean, neat and tidy, is the correct colour and styled nicely.

Good Oral Health

Good oral health is extremely important to me! Especially if you want to improve the way you look.

Brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes and flossing regularly, will keep your mouth clean and reduce your risk of oral health problems. So keeping up to date with dental checkups and cleans will reduce this and will contribute to elevating your appearance.

Natural Looking Makeup

When it comes to make up, less is more! The things you’ll need to achieve a natural make up look:

  • A light weight foundation, BB or CC cream, in the correct shade (very important)
  • Natural bronzer and a light pink blush, to emphasise your features
  • Neutral eye shadow – I like the peachy pink colours
  • Mascara – not to chunky, a light layer of mascara, focussing on the ends
  • Natural lip colour – depending on the seasons, I like a nice taupe in the autumn/winter months and a peachy pink in the spring/summer months

Keep the eye make up to a minimum, if you have eye lash extensions, having them done naturally as possible. I’ve seen some that look like big black fans on your eyes and it just isn’t a good look.

Neutral colour palette

Sticking to a neutral colour palate in your wardrobe is another way to elevate your overall look.

Neutral tones naturally look more expensive. Colours like, beige, tan, white, brown, blush etc are considered neutral tones in my wardrobe. It also makes it so much easier to put outfits together!

Simple jewellery pieces

Simple jewellery pieces such as a thin chain with a small pendant, gorgeous small hoop earrings or round studs, lovely tennis bracelets etc are just a few examples of simple jewellery pieces to elevate your look in a delicate way.

Either silver or gold jewellery I think it lovely, but I’m loving gold jewellery at the moment. Steer clear of bright coloured jewellery, chunky chains and cheap looking material.

Sunglasses

To me gorgeous cat eye shaped sunglasses make ladies look more expensive.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on them as there are so many different colours, shapes and sizes both in the high end stores and high street stores. As long as you can find a nice shaped pair of sunglasses that suit your face shape and complexion then its a win!

Classic structured handbag

A structured handbag should be a staple in any girls wardrobe.

I like to invest in quality leather handbags as I find they last longer, I adore Oroton handbags and the occasional classic Coach bag. A structured handbag, again, in a neutral colour will elevate your overall look and make you look more expensive.

Look after your clothes

You could have the highest quality item but it won’t look nice and expensive if you don’t look after it.

  • Making sure you stick to washing instructions on the tags of your garments
  • Taking your dry clean only garments to the dry cleaner regularly. – don’t try and do it at home, I  have and I regret it!
  • Cutting off any loose threads
  • Sewing buttons back on
  • Hemming hems that have fallen
  • For the woolier items, using a bobble off machine to remove those horrible looking little balls that come up.
Well fitted clothes

To look expensive and put together, your clothes have to fit properly.

Making sure they have been tailored correctly to fit your body shape, don’t buy things that are too small because it won’t last long. The items will be uncomfortable to wear and you won’t look elegant.

Clothes that are too big will just look sloppy and not nice. Ensure you wear clothes and shoes in the correct size at all times!

I hope these tips help you on your journey
