Tips For Shopping The Black Friday Sales

Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year. We can all get carried away with the rush and excitement of the Black Friday sales. Here are some strategies for not wasting your money, buying items that you won’t regret and some tips for shopping in store.

Don’t buy something just because it’s on sale

I feel like most girls have made at least one impulse purchase before and regretted it.

Buying something just because it’s on sale with an appealing price tag can can be tempting. But this is a time to practice some self control.

Make sure you look at the quality of the item, if it will go with other things in your wardrobe and if you’ll wear it in years to come. If you can’t answer these three questions, you’l be wasting your money.

Arrive early

Arriving at the shops early on Black Friday will make it a lot less stressful for you. No only will the stores look beautifully presented with the items placed nicely and in size order, but you’ll be the first to see it all and won’t miss out on anything.

By arriving late, you’ll find there won’t be as many items, there will be less sizes and things are usually found all over the store.

Stay away from trendy pieces

Trends come and go, if you’ve been wanting to try a trend for a while and you don’t want to spend too much money, definitely go ahead and buy it.

However, trendy pieces usually go out of style so quickly, and those items tend be a waste of money. Again, make sure you ask yourself if it is high quality, if it will go with other things in your wardrobe, and if you’ll wear it for years to come.

Stick to a neutral palette

A neutral colour palette is timeless and classic such as browns, blacks, whites, beiges, blush pink etc. However adding soft tones of blues, greens etc are fine depending on what you like and what your style is.

Colours like neons, and also crazy patterns won’t be in style next season. So when you’re shopping the sales, keep in mind what colours you should be looking out for, and what will go with other items in your wardrobe.

Don’t buy something that isn’t the right size

If an item isn’t in your size, do not buy it in the wrong size., I repeat, do not buy it!

I’ve been there before when you absolutely love something and it isn’t in your size and you tell yourself you’ll get it altered. It just won’t happen and the alteration might cost as much as the item. Stick to your sizes, and you won’t make any regrets or waste your money.

Wear appropriate clothing when shopping in store

When shopping in store you want to wear something comfortable. If you’re wanting to try clothes on, make sure you’re wearing something loose and comfortable that is easy to take on and off.

The same with shoes, don’t wear something with buckles and laces. Wear footwear that you can slip on and off if you’re wanting to try on and purchase footwear.

Do your research and make a wish list

Setting a budget on what you want to spend on Black Friday is important. This time of year, most people spend more money for events, going out with friends and Christmas etc. You don’t want to waste all of your money on the sales.

This is why making a wish list is also important. You’ll find it a lot easier and less stressful when shopping the sales. By writing a wish list and researching what you need and the prices of them, will keep you prepared and will help you stick to your budget.

I hope these tips help you become more prepared and excited for the Black Friday sales.

Happy shopping!
